The cast and crew of "FREED" pose for a picture at the end of the successful run!
"FREED" examined the story of Jesus Christ from a unique perspective. The story focused not just on Jesus and His message of love and sacrifice, but also on how this message affected his closest family and friends.
All of the familiar characters were there: Peter and the apostles, Mary Magdalene, Joseph and Mary. Joining them for the first time, however, were three new characters. Susannah, a "fallen woman," became one of Jesus' most faithful disciples after He saved her life. Marcus, a Roman centurion, also came to believe in the Christ when a miracle brought his daughter back to life.
And the third character? Adrian, an intimidating Roman soldier who devolved from Marcus' friend into something much more sinister. The voice of temptation, Adrian pushed those closest to Jesus to choose between themselves and others, between safety and risk, between slavery and freedom.

During rehearsal for the stoning scene, the High Priest (Mark) encourages the crowd to punish Susannah (Katherine) for her crimes. |
What happens when thirty castmembers, ten technicians, three musicians, a host of parents and volunteers, and one vision examine "the greatest story ever told" from a whole new perspective?
"FREED!"
The emotional climax of the show: As Jesus (Seth) hangs from the cross, one of the Angels (Monica) replaces his crown of thorns with one woven of roses.
"FREED" premiered at St. John the Evangelist School Auditorium in Severna Park. The show ran August 13-15 to audiences who enthusiastically welcomed the message and applauded the efforts of the cast, crew, and production staff.
